Technical Data Sheet - Skived PTFE

Basis - Polytetraflouroethylene

General Properties and Applications:
PTFE has excellent resistance to many aggressive chemicals due to its high level of inertness. It is used extensively on acid plants where strong acids are present. PTFE can either be supplied in sheet form or cut into gaskets to suit the specific application.

Dimensions of standard sheets:
Sheet size: Rolls of 1200mm wide
Thickness: 1.5mm and 3mm

Considerations for qasket material selection.
S ize:
Thickness, thinner gaskets are recommended. Gaskets larger than sheets must be dovetailed.
T emperature:
Peak and continuous. Refer to the PxT chart for recommended, caution and technical advice values.
A ppllcatlon:
Factors such as safety, accessibility of joint and installation procedures affect gasket selection.
M edium:
Refer to the chemical reference chart paying particular attention to steam, oxidizing agents and purging medium.
P ressure:
Operation design and spikes. JMP offers technical assistance on non standard flange bolting and surface finish.

Technical Data Sheet - Gylon 3500
Basis Re-Engineered PTFE with silica.

General Properties and Applications:
Gylon Fawn 3500 is used for the following media: Strong acids (except hydroflouric), solvents, hydrocarbons, water, steam, chlorine and cryogenics. Gylon Fawn has excellent cold flow resistance.

Dimensions of standard sheets:
Sheet size: 1500 x 1500mm (Available in alternative sizes on application)
Thickness: 0.8, 1.5 and 3.0mm (other thicknesses available on request)
Tolerances: Thickness: <1 mm = ± 0.1mm, 1mm = ± 10%
Gylon is able to be welded. Ideal for bigger than sheet gaskets.
